My husband always keeps Field Notes in the pocket of his jeans. He writes everything from prayers to phone numbers to project measurements to ideas to grocery lists in them. As I prayed about what might work for Sean, specifically, to help him keep his eyes on Jesus everywhere he goes, God gave me the vision for a journal that would fit right in the same place as his Field Notes, and have the added benefit of encouraging him to search out Scripture and focus on Jesus, no matter where he goes. Here it is:

This journal is designed to help you build your identity on the foundation of who God is. It’s a Bible study that you can keep in your back pocket…literally.

A Little About Framework

On each page spread of Framework is an “I am not” statement, along with three short Scripture passages that help provide a deeper understanding of how that statement describes who God is. You’ll work through your response to that, based on what Scripture is telling you. There’s room for writing notes, thoughts, and prayers as you cross-reference your way through the Bible. Then, you’ll see a few longer Scripture passages that tie together context and big-picture concepts. Each spread concludes with a specific identity factor that you are building on the framework of who God is. The end of each Framework journal also includes blank pages for any other notes you want to jot down.

SOME EXAMPLES:

• I am not the provider. He is. (Building Trust)

• I am not enough. He is. (Building Dependence)

• I am not fearless. He is. (Building Courage)

• I am not all-powerful. He is. (Building Meekness)

• I am not invincible. He is. (Building Vulnerability)
